2020 High School Scholarship Recipients
Each year we award scholarships to deserving high school seniors from our valley who will be attending music school in college. To date the band has awarded $17,000 in scholarships. The Awards are made from funds received from the Ralph Fingerle Education Trust annual donation and individual donations made to the James Hobart Davidson Scholarship Fund. We congratulate all the 2020 Scholarship Recipients.
I will pursue a degree in music aiming for a DMA in the long run and will continue to teach the beauty of music.
I will attend Cal Baptist University’s school of music. This scholarship will help me focus on my study of music education, so I can pass on my love of music.
As an aspiring music therapist, I will major in music performance at the University of California, Irvine. With this honorable scholarship, pursuing my career endeavor in music therapy is attainable!
With the Desert Freedom Wind scholarship, this assistance will assure that I am able to pursue my career in music by alleviating me of the costs to come, especially towards getting my own instrument!
As odd as this might sound, the scholarship awarded by the Desert Winds Freedom Band will help knock a chunk off of my student loans that I acquired while studying at Concordia University.
The knowledge I gained there has helped me become a member of the DWFB, which has gotten me a step closer to reaching my goal of earning a degree in Music Performance. I am glad to have been a part of the Desert Winds Freedom Band, despite the recent Coronavirus interference.
This scholarship will perpetuate my career in music with lessons and instrumental expenses, and provide more opportunities to share my talents on piano and violin within my community.
I plan to use this scholarship to attend UCLA to major in trumpet performance. Thank you so much for awarding me this wonderful scholarship.
